The Confidence Shift: When Your Brand Finally Feels Like YOU!

Branding

creating an aligned business branding strategy

We have a special guest on the podcast today! Meet our branding client Dahlia. We met Dahlia when we first launched the Sip & Strategize workbook to help people hone in on their brand strategy.

She came to us wanting to rebrand her business. She already had professional copy written and wanted a more aligned business branding. Although her current branding was beautiful, it didn’t feel like her.

We actually felt the same way when we rebranded in 2024! So we were so excited to help Dahlia create a brand that felt aligned.

What you’ll hear in this episode:

  • How did the Sip & Strategize workbook help you? Was it after this that you realized you needed a rebrand?
  • Before working with us, how would you have described your brand and how it made you feel?
  • When you first considered investing in branding, what emotions came up for you? Nervousness, excitement, fear?
  • What part of the process helped you feel most seen and understood?
  • Did you notice any mindset shifts along the way about what branding really means?
  • How has having a brand that feels aligned with you impacted your confidence as a business owner?
  • What advice would you give to someone who’s scared to invest in branding because they’re afraid it won’t feel authentic?

Branding is an Emotional Experience—and we’re with you the whole time.

Dahlia said it felt like she was breaking up with her old branding, and it was really emotional for her.

Boy, do we hear that! Our original branding had been with us for four years before we rebranded. It was emotional and scary, even though we knew it was right for us.

Dahlia felt the same way. Her brand had been with her through many business and personal seasons of life. She was comfortable in her branding, but knew something was missing and it needed to be changed.

Why Aligned Business Branding Matters for Entrepreneurs

As small business owners, all the work falls on us. We’re so passionate about what we do, and we just want to have fun serving our clients.

But when we don’t have aligned business branding, it feels wrong or like more work is on our plate. We aren’t confident in talking about our services or who we serve. We’re embarrassed to share our website or talk about our business on social media. And that doesn’t make entrepreneurship fun.

An aligned brand gives you the confidence and excitement to continue growing your business and serving your clients to the best of your ability.

Rebrands Are SO Much Work

A lot of business owners delay rebranding because it’s SO much work and they’re comfortable in their current brand, even if it doesn’t feel 100% aligned.

These are just a few of the places you have to update your branding when you decide to change it:

  • Website (that’s a beast in and of itself!)
  • Email templates
  • Social media graphics
  • Gmail signature
  • Online directories
  • Slide decks
  • Proposals, contracts, and invoices
  • Packaging design
  • Podcast graphics
  • Press kits

It is everything, and it’s very overwhelming. It’s totally understandable why some people just don’t want to go through the effort of rebranding.

But sometimes, it’s necessary for your growth as a business owner. When you step into something that feels more like you and is more strategically aligned, your confidence shines. You are excited to share your website and shout from the rooftops about your business.

When someone finds you on Instagram, then inquires about your services on your website, and then meets you on a call, it feels like they’re talking to the same person. And that is invaluable to the client experience and your confidence.

Thinking about rebranding? Here are 4 Reasons It Might Be Time To Rebrand Your Business.

FAQs About Aligned Business Branding

What is brand misalignment?

Brand misalignment happens when the way your brand looks, sounds, or acts doesn’t match your company’s values, mission, or the audience you’re trying to reach. For most of the clients we work with, this means your brand doesn’t look, sound, or act like YOU.

Why do rebrands fail?

Rebrands can fail for several reasons. The biggest is a lack of clarity in what you want out of this rebrand. You haven’t defined why the rebrand is happening or what the new brand should communicate to your audience.

What is the first step of rebranding?

The first step is to understand the “why” behind your rebrand. Think about your business goals and audience, and what you want the rebrand to achieve in the long run.
