Today, we are talking about how to launch your new brand! Too often, we see people launch their brand as soon as they can but don’t have a strategy in place. Yes, you need a strategy to launch your brand, too!
We rebranded Duo in 2023/2024, and man was that a big job! At that point, we had been in business for 4-5 years and decided it was time for a refresh to better reflect our personalities and our vision for our brand. We understand that rebranding is no easy decision, and there’s a lot of work to be done.
So, let’s talk about a few things you need to know and do before shouting from the rooftops about your new brand.
Take Your Time
Preparing to launch your brand is extremely fun, but it can seem a little stressful because where do you begin with updating literally everything?! And how long does it take? You’ll have a sense of urgency because of your excitement, and this is great, but you’ll feel so much better if you take your time and get everything updated before launching to the world. Also, this is such a fun time for you and your business. We both had a great time launching Duo in 2019 and wish we would have enjoyed the small moments more. Go slow and have fun with it!
Consider creating a mini timeline of when you want your brand to go live. And then back into that timeline with the things that you need to update. Once you have everything updated, then you’re ready to show the world your new, beautiful brand!
Make Sure to Update Everything!
This is a biiiiig job. Make a checklist of ALL the places your brand shows up and the things that need to be updated. Use that as your guide to making sure you get everything rebranded.
These are some things to put on your list:
- Your website
- Social graphics
- Podcast cover art
- Email signature
- Newsletter
- SEO
- Social media profile and handles
- Business cards
- Legal documentation
- Proposals, contracts, and invoices
- Freebies
- Resources
There are probably a lot more we’re forgetting 😝 and of course, it varies by business. A list will help you knock most off before you launch your brand.
Create Hype
Warm your audience up with something new and fun by sharing sneak peeks or giving hints. Be playful with it, and get them excited and coming back for more. Keep them updated on your progress, and allow them to share their input! Post polls or question boxes on your Instagram story to involve them in rebranding. This will make them feel like they contributed to your brand when you finally launch!
Another way to create hype is to tell friends and family before and when you launch and ask them to share it! Word of mouth is such a great marketing tool, and your friends and family are your biggest fans!
Launch with Purpose
You have to be strategic about your launch. Launching only half of your brand or launching without any structure is going to make things look incomplete or inconsistent. We preach about consistency all the time! Your brand materials and marketing need to stay consistent to protect the brand trust and recognition you’ve built since launching your first brand. Don’t go crazy with experimentation at first – stick with consistently sharing your brand as it is, and then you can play with fun elements later. You’ll feel more confident and better if you launch with purpose.
Getting ready to launch your brand is so exciting! Take your time and put strategic plans in place before you launch. We’ve seen too many business owners rush to launch and flounder trying to catch up on the things they should have done before launching. Give yourself the time to launch your brand strategically to get positive results.
When you finally launch your brand, send it to us on Instagram! We are so excited to see your hard work pay off and cheer you on!
