Every once in a while, a product branding project comes along that is so ridiculously fun, so bold, and so outside the box that we cannot wait to share it with the world. Amusejoy Poop Bags is exactly that brand.

Born from a love for pets and absolute frustration with the sea of stale, boring, dark-green dog poop bags we’ve all come to accept, this brand is here to flip the script.

Think: the cutest, happiest, most colorful compostable poop bags on the planet — because even the not-so-cute parts of pet ownership deserve a little joy.

Designed for the modern, millennial dog parent who cares about aesthetics and the planet, Amusejoy is on a mission to bring color, personality, and fun to a category that has been beige (literally) for far too long.

The Product Branding Challenge

Before coming to Duo Collective, the founder behind Amusejoy (a proud pet lover and product-based brand strategist herself) was tired of seeing the same generic dog poop bags over and over again.

Dark green. Paw prints. Or worse — green bones printed on even greener bags.

Nothing felt fresh, modern, or joyful. Everything looked identical. And in an oversaturated Amazon-heavy market, blending in is not an option.

She knew she needed a brand that would:

  • Pop off the page on Amazon, Etsy, and beyond
  • Immediately grab attention with bold colors and playful vibes
  • Stand out as the fun alternative to the “same old, same old”
  • Reflect her eco-friendly mission and donation-driven goals
  • Create a cult-following similar to brands like Poppi and Magic Spoon

What she did not want:

The Solution: Bright & Bold Product Branding

We leaned into bright, dopamine-rich hues: purples, pinks, electric yellows, bold teal, and anything that practically shouts joy from the shelf. These colors were intentionally chosen to:

  • Stand out in an oversaturated category
  • Feel modern, energetic, and full of personality
  • Appeal to the millennial pet-parent aesthetic
  • Bring delight to a not-so-delightful daily task

Visual Direction

Instead of traditional pet motifs, we focused on shapes, motion, and playful typography to communicate personality. Think: bold custom lettering, lively compositions, and a vibe reminiscent of modern beverage and CPG brands taking over TikTok.

The goal was simple: No one should ever mistake Amusejoy for another poop bag brand. Ever.

With the strategy set and the vision crystal clear (bold, joyful, absolutely not your average poop bag brand), we brought Amusejoy to life through a full suite of playful, high-impact visuals.

Main Logo

A vibrant, energetic wordmark with chunky retro-style typography that captures the brand’s fun-first personality. Paired with the illustrated “mascot” dog for instant brand recognition and an unmistakable shelf presence.

Brand Mascot: Kennedy, Chief Pooper

A custom illustrated doodle character based on the founder’s dog, Kennedy — drawn in multiple poses and vibrant color variations. These playful illustrations instantly became the heart of the brand, used across packaging, social graphics, and submarks.

Submarks + Badge Logos

A collection of circular and flower-shaped badge designs featuring phrases, like:

Custom Icons + Graphics

We created a full library of mini flower icons, starburst-esque shapes, and dog-inspired accents that bring personality to every piece of packaging and content. These simple but memorable graphics help unify the brand visually.

Typography System

A rounded psychedelic-inspired display font paired with a clean, modern sans-serif to keep things playful but readable on packaging. This balance allows fun phrases like oh sht*! and sht happens* to shine without sacrificing legibility.

Pattern System

A collection of joyful, wiggly-line patterns and flower-filled repeats that show up on packaging, backgrounds, and merch. These patterns help Amusejoy feel instantly recognizable — and totally unlike any other poop bag on the market.

Packaging Art Direction

We established the full visual direction for packaging:

  • Bold backgrounds

Our favorite part of this entire project? Kennedy.

Creating custom dog illustrations — based on the founder’s real pup and official “Chief Pooper” — brought this brand to life in the most joyful way. Every little expression, every pose, every pop of color turned Kennedy into the heart of Amusejoy.

These illustrations added a level of personality that no pattern or color palette alone could ever achieve. They instantly made the brand feel lovable, recognizable, and full of character.
