If youâve listened to Duo on Air for a while, youâll recognize Kerrieâs name! This is her second episode with us – we just canât get enough of all the knowledge she has to share. Go back and listen to episode 43 with Kerrie!
Weâve been friends with Kerrie since Duo was born and we recently had the opportunity to work with her on a branding project for her new poo bag business. In this episode, sheâll share her experience working with us vs. going the DIY route, including getting a Fiverr logo for her brand.
No shame to the DIYâers out there, but sometimes working with a professional gives you the elevated brand experience youâve been looking for. Letâs get to Kerrie!
What Youâll Hear in This Episode:
- How was your experience using tools or services like Fiverr?
- What were some of the biggest challenges you faced while DIY’ing your brand or working with a service like 99Designs?
- When did you realize you might need/want a professional brand designer?
- What were your main reasons for deciding to hire us for your branding?
- How did the process of working with us differ from your DIY experience?
- What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering DIY’ing their brand versus hiring a professional?
- What should small business owners look for when choosing a professional brand designer?
Fiverr Logo Experience
When we say DIY, weâre talking about doing it yourself in Canva or hiring from places like Fiverr or 99Designs. These sites allow anyone to sign up and offer branding services. Apart from the portfolio they post and some reviews, you have no idea how much of an âexpertâ they really are. Hence why we never recommend getting a Fiverr logo or any other aspect of your brand from these sites.
Kerrie has used these sites for various branding projects, and her experience has been varied. Sometimes, she gets lucky and finds someone who can produce high-quality work. As her first experience outsourcing her branding, she hired someone on Fiverr to design a logo for $20. This person didnât do anything else besides design the logo, and it was fine for what she needed at the time.
More often than not, though, itâs been a terrible experience. Recently, she chose to hire someone from Fiverr to do branding for a software company she started (we got the poo bag project đ) In Kerrieâs words, âWhen I say it was a terrible experience, it was worse than terrible.â Cheap branding often ends up costing you more.
The experience created so much stress for Kerrie and it was time-consuming, which is the opposite of what should happen when you hire someone to help you! Overall, the Fiverr logo didnât compare to the results she received from a professional branding experience.
Professional Branding Experience
Kerrie immediately knew she needed professional branding for her new poo bag business. This isnât her first e-commerce business. She had a vision for the business and understood only high-quality, professional branding services would fit with her goals for the brand.
She hasnât launched the brand yet but sheâs gotten SUCH great feedback from her current audience. If she were to open her doors today, people would buy. Kerrie has received tons of messages and comments about how cute the colors are. As an e-commerce business, itâs important for people to be excited about your brand.
She contributes it all to the branding genius of Duo, Court. Kerrie says thereâs no way she could have come up with this brand by herself or found someone on Fiverr to even come close to what Court has created. You donât get the strategy or creativity behind a new brand by doing it yourself.
Court is an absolute branding genius. You can view her portfolio here. The best part? Weâre accepting new branding clients! Get in touch with us to create a brand that aligns with your vision, audience, and goals for your business.
