Ways To Celebrate Your Growth In The New Year

Apple Podcasts | Spotify

We are notorious for not celebrating our wins enough. We preach it all the time but hardly ever do it ourselves! It feels unproductive, selfish, or braggy, but it’s actually SO helpful for your mental health and excitement about your business. So today, we want to jump right into ways to celebrate your wins because we definitely don’t do this enough, and you might not either.

Why Reflection and Celebration Are Key for Avoiding Burnout

Many entrepreneurs focus on the next big thing without pausing to celebrate how far they’ve come. You keep go-go-go-go-going until you feel like, “What’s the point?” You need to find ways to celebrate consistently, even if it’s something small!

Reflection and celebration aren’t just “feel-good” activities—they’re essential for sustainable growth and mental health. These little celebrations are for you – no one else! Taking small moments to reflect and celebrate gives you clarity, motivation, and a sense of accomplishment that fights burnout.

4 Ways We Are Celebrating More This Year

Need some ideas for ways to celebrate your wins? This is what we’re doing in 2025! Steal these ideas if they feel good for you!

1. Wine Bottle Goals

We actually stole this idea from Taryn at the She is Going Somewhere Retreat 🤣 Here’s her upcoming conference if you’re interested!

We will take a few wine bottles and write a mix of big and small goals on them to accomplish throughout the year. Then, when we reach that goal, we get to pop the bottle and enjoy the wine together! It’s a reward we both love, aligns with our brand, and is an easy way to celebrate our wins

2. Pre-Planned and Scheduled Meetings to Reflect

We just started adding meetings back into our routine this year. When we left our agency jobs, we had such negative feelings about meetings that we cut them out completely, but that ended up hurting our business. Now, we have regular financial, marketing, and annual planning meetings. And during these meetings, we set aside a few minutes to talk about our current wins.

3. Win Wall

We are such visual people, and that includes visualizing our wins. So we’re going to start a win wall where we post notes and stickys any time we accomplish something or have a feel-good business moment. Recording those big and small moments and seeing them every day gives us a boost of happiness!

4. Gratitude Morning Messages

Sometimes we wake up and aren’t excited about hopping into work or didn’t get enough sleep and are exhausted. We started sending positive morning messages to each other via Voxer or text message to put each other in a better headspace. We don’t do it every day, but we try to hype each other up throughout the week. If you don’t have a business partner, you could read affirmations or leave post-it notes on your desk to brighten your day.

3 Ways to Reflect on Your Business At Year End

We are all about reflection, and that aligns perfectly with ways to celebrate your business wins. These are three things you can do at the end of the year (or honestly, any time of the year!) to reflect on your work and growth.

1. Journal It Out

Take time to write about your wins, challenges, and lessons from the year. Here’s a prompt to help you get started: “What am I most proud of this year? What didn’t go as planned? What did I learn?” Braindump anything you want!

2. Review Your Metrics

Look at your analytics to see the tangible growth. Remember to celebrate progress, even if it isn’t perfection! Here are some metrics to research:

  • Website traffic
  • Sales
  • Engagement
  • Email list growth
  • Content published

3. Ask for Feedback

Reflect by hearing from clients or your community about what’s working. Ask for feedback from your clients and audience via social media stories, Google Forms, or just a quick email. This simple survey is a good starting point!

4 Ways to Avoid Burnout in the New Year

No one wants to experience burnout, so let’s talk about a few ways to avoid it in the new year.

1. Set Realistic Goals

Focus on achievable, aligned goals that don’t overwhelm you. Pick 1-2 priorities for each quarter instead of trying to tackle everything at once. And don’t forget your ways to celebrate when you reach those goals!

2. Build in Time to Rest

Treat rest as part of your strategy. Without it, burnout creeps in fast. Schedule non-negotiable time off or lighter weeks throughout the month and year. Take time off for vacations, weekends, and family outings.

3. Find Your Joy

Incorporate fun and play into your business—whether it’s trying something new or connecting with others over coffee. Entrepreneurship is so much more fun when you have other amazing people to connect with.

4. Lean on Tools and Support

Outsource, automate, or bring in a team to help. You don’t have to do it all alone! Think about where you need to hire or get support this coming year. We’ve been outsourcing a lot more lately, and it’s helped our processes, growth, and mental health SO much. We are so grateful for our team! We also have a ton of business tools that make our lives easier.

As we go into the new year, it’s important to stop and reflect on all we’ve accomplished this year. We thought of these new ways to celebrate, and we’re excited to do so as we meet our goals! We hope you take this as your sign to reflect on this last year and celebrate your wins to avoid burnout.
