4 Email Marketing Lead Magnets To Grow Your Email List

All the Email Marketing Leads We Use to Grow Our Email List

We get questions all the time about email marketing and growing your email list. This actually isn’t a service we offer, but email marketing has always been a huge priority for Duo Collective. Even in the early days when we didn’t have Tuesday Tips & Sips, we knew growing our list was important.

Many people want to do email but may not know how to start or use it to its fullest potential yet. It’s such a powerful marketing tool because these contacts are YOURS. On Instagram, you don’t own your followers. We don’t own these social platforms, and they could go away tomorrow for all we know! Let’s pray that doesn’t happen 🙏

Diversifying your marketing is sooo important, and email marketing should definitely be part of your strategy!

Why should you care about email marketing in 2023?

Something that has never changed since the beginning of email history is that email marketing revenue charts grow year over year. A recent stat we heard was “The global e-mail marketing market was valued at $7.5 billion in 2020 and is projected to increase to $17.9 billion by 2027.” That’s an insane opportunity for you to get started with email marketing if you haven’t already!

According to a report by Monetate, email marketing drives more conversions than any other marketing channel, including social and search. Although social and search are still important for brand awareness, email marketing is crucial to conversions.

What email marketing platform do we use?

It’s no surprise that design has always been a large consideration for any of our business tools. This was one of our main reasons for choosing Flodesk as our email provider. Their beautiful and easy-to-use templates make it simple to create visually stunning emails that resonate with our subscribers. In addition to that, we love the workflows that continuously engage new and current subscribers, full sales pages and checkout pages to sell your products and offers. And the flat rate growth, meaning you never have to pay more for your growing subscriber list.

4 lead magnets you can use to grow your email list

1. Educational Resources

We’re all about free resources, and we have lots! Don’t overthink this. Your free resources don’t have to be perfect to offer to your audience. Just get them out there and give your audience real value!

A few examples of ours include 4 free ways to find SEO keywords and 5 marketing tools to grow your business. We also have a monthly social content calendar that is updated each month. You too likely have a resource you can create to share information with your audience and help position you as an expert in your field. Canva makes this easier than ever before! Jump in there, grab a template and start writing.

2. Interactive Quiz

We’ve written an entire post solely about this lead magnet opportunity (including a YouTube tutorial)! We absolutely love Interact Quiz Builder for so many reasons. You can create a quiz as in-depth or as simple as you’d like. Their templates make it incredibly easy to get started. Our quiz, how strong is your ‘Gram, is one of our top tools to grow our subscribers. It’s fun, engaging, on-brand and delivers unique resources depending on your results.

3. Email Challenge

A great way to grow your list and build a relationship can be right inside your audience’s inbox. Showing up daily with educational content or encouragement is a great way to do just that. Want to know what this looks like? Take our 5 days to better backlinks challenge!

4. Weekly Newsletter

A juicy newsletter is reason enough to sign up for an email list. The key to a successful email newsletter is to set expectations, be consistent and deliver what was promised.

Here are a few more bonus lead magnet ideas

  • A newsletter swap with a business friend or partner— check out this one we did recently with our copy bestie Sara from BTL.
  • Offer a discount code for your shop
  • An exclusive freebie for an event you spoke at, podcast you were a guest for or a membership group you are a part of.
  • Share a link to a private YouTube tutorial, facebook live recording or past speaking engagement.
  • Recorded webinars
  • Sign up to look at your portfolio or pricing guide.

Remember, don’t just create anything. You really need to create something that your audience wants. “Will the person who wants this resource also buy from me?” If yes, then you are golden. If not, don’t create that resource. Because what’s the point.

And finally, don’t forget to talk about it! This is the biggest mistake we see. You have to share your free resources with your audience (probably multiple times) for them to take advantage of it.
