How Does it Feel When You Are Ready to Pivot Your Business?

Today, we are talking about something that is very real in our business right now and that is this feeling that something needs to change. We’ve made a few big changes recently. We actually ended a program we thought we were going to love. It was disheartening. But you know what’s more disheartening? Sticking with something that doesn’t feel right. After all, there’s nothing wrong with changing your business – it is your business, right!?

It’s terrifying, but it’s a gut feeling that it’s time to grow and change. If you’re in the same boat, we hope this episode will encourage you to follow your gut and make a change!

Signs You’re Ready to Pivot Your Business

Maybe you think it’s time to make a change in your business, but you aren’t sure what that means or looks like. These are some of the ways we knew it was time to pivot our business:

  • Feeling uninspired
  • Anxiety over simple tasks
  • Unsure how to answer the question, “Where will your business be in 5 years”
  • Not feeling the efficiency as you grow OR not seeing the results you hoped

This is what inspired us to sit down and truly think about what we like about our business now and what we would change. Even the small details! It all adds up and can lead to burnout and overwhelm.

What to do When You’re Feeling This…

So, what should you do if you can relate to the bullets above?

  • Have an honest conversation with yourself
  • Write down the things you love and hate currently
  • Rest and walk away
  • Find other creative outlets
  • Talk to friends or family about how you are feeling
  • Stay off social media… prime time for imposter syndrome
  • Be open to change

Change is scary, no matter how experienced you are in your field or how confident you feel in yourself. It’s scary to move out of your comfort zone, but it’s necessary for growth. Take it from us – we were nervous about breaking up with our social media clients and removing that stream of income. But honestly, it was the best thing we could have done for our business and ourselves.

Remember you are the CEO… stop creating a business you don’t love.
