We’ve been making some changes at Duo behind the scenes. While some are business growth strategies, others are simply there to help our mindset and workload as business owners.
Between automations, delegation, scheduling strategic meetings, and learning to step into our CEO roles, we’ve never been happier, and our business is thriving.
Automations Are Saving Our Sanity
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again—automations are gold.
These small systems do the heavy lifting, so we don’t have to. They keep things consistent, polished, and on brand without us having to touch a thing. This has been a major time-saver and energy protector in our business.
Here are some of the ways automation is a big business growth strategy for us:
- We’ve finally stopped manually sending invoice reminders and welcome emails to new clients.
- No more asking for meeting availability back and forth over email. Dubsado sends a calendar scheduler for lead or client meetings.
- We schedule all our social content.
- Every Instagram DM gets an auto-reply until we can send a response directly.
Remember: Automation doesn’t mean impersonal—it means consistent.
If you’ve ever said, “I’ll do it later,” that’s your automation cue. We give you 11 automation ideas in Episode #46.
Delegation Is a Muscle—And Ours Is Getting Stronger
Delegating used to be tough—like, really tough. But once we leaned in and trusted our team, it got easier.
We’re finally letting go of things we don’t need to do, and it’s freed us up to lead and grow.
It turns out that letting go is actually the secret sauce.
Here are some things we’ve learned to delegate or outsource:
- Design tasks
- Admin work
- Project management
- Blogging
It’s a mindset shift from “we can do it all” to “we shouldn’t do it all.” We’re not scaling just to scale—we’re scaling for sanity and sustainability
Meetings, A Love-Hate Relationship
We used to dread meetings because of our agency days. But the anti-meeting culture actually hurt our business.
Now? We actually look forward to them.
With the right structure and intention, our meetings keep the team aligned, focused, and excited. They’re short, strategic, and way more helpful than we ever expected.
These are the types of meetings we regularly schedule:
- Weekly team check-ins
- Monthly CEO meetings
- Annual business planning
Everything has a purpose, and meetings now feel strategic and worthwhile. No more “that could have been an email.” Meetings with intention = momentum + alignment.
Bonus: Adding CEO time blocks on the calendar has been a game-changer. We dedicate time to strategically thinking about and planning our business.
Stepping into our C-Level Era
We’re finally owning our CEO roles. That means stepping back from the tiny tasks and leaning into the big-picture stuff—vision, strategy, and growth.
It’s a little scary, but also incredibly freeing. This shift has made the business feel more aligned and way more sustainable.
We’re finally doing the work only we can do—big vision, relationships, and strategic direction. Letting go of the small stuff has opened space for new launches, content, and growth planning, things that always got pushed to the back burner.
Yes, we still review designs or check strategy—but we’re not in every nitty-gritty detail anymore.
The hard part: letting go without guilt.
The best part: Our business feels more like a company, not a hustle.
This isn’t just about growth—it’s about freedom.
What Are Your Business Growth Strategies?
These changes didn’t happen overnight—it took time, trust, and adjustments along the way. We’re still learning, but we’re finally starting to see the payoff.
If you’re feeling stuck in your biz, maybe it’s time to:
- Automate something
- Delegate something
- Add a meeting with intention
- Let go of one thing and lead with vision
You don’t have to wait for the new year to make changes or goals within your business.
FAQs About Business Growth Strategies
How do you know which business growth strategies are working?
Measure performance through key metrics, and this isn’t always data-specific. It could relate to revenue growth, website traffic, or conversion rates, but it could also be your stress levels, happiness in your business, and workload.
How long does it take to see results from business growth strategies?
It depends. With the strategies we talked about in this episode, it took us several months to see a payoff, but it’s made a huge difference for us now that we have.
Should growth strategies change over time?
Yes. You’ll change as a business owner, and your business will change along with you. You’ll go through different seasons and need different support and strategies to maintain a healthy mindset and business.
